Kristy Bishop
Charleston artist, Kristy Bishop creates unique, hand sewn and dyed fiber jewelry. Bishop is an avid practitioner and educator in the art of dyeing, weaving and other textile practices. Her jewelry is made of cotton bolo cord, then carefully sewn into it’s serpentine shape. Once sewn, Kristy dyes them where they absorb the color for up to a day. She chooses brilliant and rich colors that compliment the seasons. Her fiber earrings are extremely lightweight and easy to wear day or night.

Ron & Natalie Daise
Georgetown-based couple Natalie Daise, a fine artist and storyteller and her husband Ron Daise, the VP for Creative Education at Brookgreen Gardens; are well known for their award-winning show "Gullah Gullah Island" which aired for four seasons on Nick Jr. from ‘94-’98. Furthermore, they're praised for their mission to preserve the Gullah Geechee culture and heritage in our low country through their artistry and advocacy.
We carry their children's book "McKenzie Beach Memories" in our gift shop, which is a story based on a collection of memories from Johnny L. Ford of the historical Gullah beach resort, as told by Ron Daise and illustrated by Natalie Daise. You can find more information on each artist by visiting: Ron Daise’s website or Natalie Daise’s website.
Please enjoy the footage of the reading of the book by Ron, a discussion on the art process by Natalie and interview with Mr. Ford at the Georgetown public library from September of 2021, sourced from YouTube.
Stacey Green
Hi, I am Stacey Green, glass artist. My HAPPY PLACE, where I lose all track of time is my glass studio. It is the place where I am free to create, experiment and play with glass. My favorite choice of art medium is glass because it can be manipulated in many ways and comes in a variety of forms, textures and colors. Glass can be mesmerizing, intimidating, sharp and soft, all at the same time.
I have worked with stained glass, mosaic glass, torch glass and blown glass but my favorite is fused or kiln formed glass. This method requires a kiln where glass is melted together at high temperatures. There is always an element of surprise when the kiln is opened many hours later ,as glass has a definite mind of it’s own. I have learned to expect the unexpected.
My inspiration comes from growing up in picturesque New Zealand and having lived on the beautiful West Coast of Canada as well as the past 25 years in the beauty of the low county of South Carolina.
